Blueprint Reading w/ GD&T (TTRC) Thursdays This course is intended to be an introduction to blueprints and being able to visualize and understand the intent of the designer or draftsman as presented in a blueprint. The first step in making quality parts or assemblies is interpreting the drawing correctly and applying the given information to the final product. This course will help you to interpret drawings commonly found in manufacturing. Dimensioning and tolerances are explained with an emphasis on "Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing" (GD&T) using the "ASME Y14.5M-1994" standard. CNC I G&M Codes (TTRC) Tuesdays This course uses a "blended learning" approach to introduce students to CNC machining. Blended learning involves self-paced distance learning (over the internet) in combination with classroom instruction and hands-on labs. We will focus on programming CNC machines using G & M codes. Materials, speeds & feeds, and machine setup will also be introduced in this class. This course will also lightly review some topics in machine shop related math. In collaboration with the Tool and Technology Resource Center in Newport, NH and the Claremont Adult Learning Center at the Sugar River Technical Center in Claremont, NHCTC-Claremont is offering advanced machine tool courses designed to train students on aspects related to the most advanced machine tool processes. The courses offered this spring will give you the training and skills necessary to pursue a career with the Machine Tool Industry.
